Graduate/Junior Controls Engineer

Founded in 2008, Axis Controls are a control panel builder and systems integrator based in Southport, Merseyside.  We have been providing complex process control and automation systems to worldwide customers for over ten years.  Due to continual expansion of the business; we are looking to recruit a Graduate or Junior level Electrical Control Engineer to join our successful team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a keen and ambitious Controls Engineer to be involved in the design and delivery of bespoke control and automation applications.  This role will incorporate software design, implantation, testing and on-site commissioning where necessary. 

Candidates with no practical experience, but with a HNC or a Degree in Electrical Engineering are encouraged to apply as training will be provided on-site.

Salary –   £20,000 - £25,000 dependent on experience.  Opportunities for overtime may arise.
Hours of work – 40 hours per week.  Monday to Friday 8.00am until 17.00pm.

Your day to day challenges will include

  • Producing bespoke electrical schematics using ePlan,
  • Designing and testing electrical control panels, 
  • Writing software and programming PLC systems, predominantly Allen-Bradley & Siemens, 
  • Producing control system documentation, 
  • Occasionally commissioning on-site, 
  • Liaising with customers and other engineers; both in-house and on-site. 

You will ideally be

  • An electrical engineer, ideally with an HNC or Degree, with experience of PLC systems,
  • Capable and confident when working under pressure with an ability to work to deadlines,
  • Experienced in control and automation systems,
  • Able to prioritise a heavy workload, and confident in working independently,
  • Capable of designing and programming a variety of bespoke control systems,
  • Enjoy devising and creating unique, bespoke and reliable control and automation solutions.

Control Panel Wireman

We are a UK based control panel builder and systems integrator.  From our premises in Southport, we design and build control and automation solutions for a wide variety of industrial applications for machine builders and end users.

We now have an opportunity for a skilled and time served person to join our team.

What will you be doing?

  • Laying out control panel back-plates
  • Wiring of control panels from start to finish
  • Follow testing procedures
  • Work as part of a team
  • Occasional site work

What skills and experience will you need to apply?

  • Have experience of building industrial control panels
  • Read & understand electrical schematics
  • Completed work must be to a very high standard
  • Knowledge of PLCs would also be helpful but is not essential
  • Full driving licence preferable (to work from different sites)

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am until 5.00pm and Overtime is frequently available.
