This slate tile handling control system was built for Welsh Slate. The PLC controlled system accuratley manipulates slate tiles with a servo controlled guider.

Incinerator Stack Gas Sampling System
This incinerator stack gas sampling system was built for sampling specialist's Protea, their customer required a system that could monitor and control six channels of heated gas sampling equipment. The system, which incorporates a SCADA system and ethernet networked PLC with rack mounted temperature control modules. All process data is logged and can viewed across the SCADA network.

Steel Coiler Control Panel
Built for a North West machine builder, this control panel is for a steel coiling machine.
The system comprises of three Mitsubishi inverters, a mitsubishi PLC and touchscreen, with Schneider & Allen-Bradley control gear.
A Pilz PNOZ Sigma safety system monitors E-Stops and Guard Switches.
Conveyor Control Panel
This main production line Conveyor Control Panel was built for a local company.
The system comprises of a Woehner busbar, Omron CP1L PLC and Omron NS8 touchscreen, seven Siemens 3RW30 soft starters, two Parker 650 Inverters, seven Schneider Electric DOL starters, with control gear from Schneider and Allen-Bradley.
A Pilz PNOZ Sigma safety system monitors Emergency stop pushbuttons and emergency pull wires.
Steel Tube Tapering Control Panel
This steel tube tapering control panel was built for Boxer Design, a Stockport based machine builder.
The system uses an Omron RX inverter with encoder feedback card, and two Omron MX2 inverters. Process control is handled by an Omron CP1L PLC and an Omron NS5 touchscreen. Allen-Bradley and Schneider control gear was used.
A Pilz PNOZ Sigma safety system monitors Estops and machine guard switches.
Plant Control Panel
This master MCC control panel was built for local company Golden Acres Pet Food Partners.
This system was built to Golden Acres design, and comprises an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC rack that is linked by fibre optic cable to the plant wide DCS system. A Siemens dual redundant battery backed UPS system has been integrated. Machine safety is handled by a rack of Pilz safety relays. Control gear from Merlin-Gerin, ABB and Schneider was used.
Rewinder Slitter Control Panel
This Rewinder / Slitter control panel was built for MJ Howard, a company specialising in refurbishing converting machinery.
The system is designed to slit and rewind film material.
The rewinding and slitting is handled by three Parker 690P system drives fitted with encoder feedback cards. An Omron PLC and touchscreen monitor and control other machine fuctions.
All PLC and HMI programming, drive setup and commissioning was completed by Axis Controls engineers.
Reel Slitting Control Panel
This fabric reel slitting control panel was built for Silentnight Beds.
The system uses four Omron MX2 inverters to control linear blade positioning, chuck rotation, blade rotation and blade cutting cycle. The whole process is controlled by an Omron PLC, with positioning information provide by a Sick DFS60 programmable encoder. An Omron NS8 touchscreen provides the operator with all machine information.
The complex machine safety requirements are handled by a Sick programmable safety system, which monitors information from Estops, guard switches, coded magnetic safety switches and light curtains.
Isolator Pressure Control Panel
This isolator pressure control panel was built for Bolton based Machaire who specialize in pharmaceutical isolator equipment.
The system comprises a Siemens S7-1200 PLC fitted with analogue input and output modules. The PLC system maintains constant air pressure via a PID loop controlling four fans. Allen-Bradley and Schneider control gear was used.
Slate Cutter Control Panel
This control panel was built for Welsh Slate in Bangor, North Wales.
The system was built to cut slate blocks in the quarry.
The system utilises a PLC optimizing cutting algorithm written by Axis' engineers. The result was increased throughput, productivity and enhanced blade life, whilst also reducing energy consumption compared with the previous manual system.
Chick Hatchery Control Panel
This control panel was built for a local machine builder who specialises in hatchery equipment : John Francis Haycock / Digitech.
The system has an Omron PLC and HMI, and controls the complete hatchery take off line at Annyalla in Wrexham. The conveyors are controlled by Parker 650 inverters.
Web Tension Control Panel
This electrical control panel was built for MJ Howard Technical Services.
The system is designed for open loop web tension control and uses three 512C single quadrant DC drives from Parker SSD (Eurotherm)
Cut To Length Control Panel
This control system was built for Silentnight Beds in Barnoldswick.
The process is designed as a 'cut to length' system for fabric used on mattresses. A pattern length is selected by an operator from the touchscreen, then the fabric is fed through nip rollers with a measuring encoder, and once at correct length is guillotined.
Shotblaster Control Panel
This shotblasting control system was built for a North East car parts foundry.
The PLC controlled system controls an overhead conveying system that automatically loads and unloads the products into a shotblasting chamber, which is also controlled by the PLC.
An Allen-Bradley Compactlogix PLC was used on this system, along with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex inverters.
Multi Axis Servo Pleater Control Panel
This Omron multi axis servo system was built for a North West machine builder.
The system is designed to provide accurate pleats for the filter industry.
Pump Control Panel
This pump control system was designed and built for a local salad producer.
The system is controlled by a Siemens S7-200 PLC and has three Siemens Micromaster 420 inverters. The inverters are running a PID loop to maintain constant water pressure.
Incinerator Stack Monitoring System
This control system was supplied to Novartis pharmaceuticals near Cork in Ireland.
The Siemens S7-300 PLC system controls heated lines for the incinerator stack gas analysis system.
Valve positioning and alarm information is displayed on a local operator touchscreen, but also relays required information to the factory wide DCS system.
Tank Aerator Control Panel
This 30 kW tank aerator system was supplied to Anglesey based abattoir : Welsh Country Foods.
The 30 kW constant torque inverter supplied by Omron provides a means of varying the aerator mixer flow in the huge outdoor tanks. A sinusoidal output filter compensates for a long motor cable length.
Slate Dresser Control Panel
This electrical control panel was supplied to Bethesda based quarry : Welsh Slate.
Four complete systems were provided to fully automate the slate dressing production area.
The system has increased productivity and will integrate with a SCADA management package.
Operator Control Desk
This operator control desk was built for a Welsh quarry.
The PLC controlled system enables an operator to manipulate large quarried blocks prior to processing.
The system integrates with a Devcicenet industrial network.
Chamber Door Control Panel
This industrial control panel was supplied to North West OEM : Rainford EMC Systems.
The control panel is designed to open and close very large entry doors into anechoic chambers used in the EMC tesing industry.
Screen Washing Control System
This screen washing system was designed and built for a local OEM : Enviromatic Solutions.
The panel controls the automatic cleaning proces for industrial printing screens, including the loading and unloading of screens. The PLC control system incorporates Devicenet industrial comms.
Servo Control System
This Omron servo control panel was built for a North West machine builder in the steel coil forming industry.
The system incorporates an Omron servo drive, Omron variable speed drive, and Omron PLC and touchscreen.
The design, build, programming and final commissioning were all completed by Axis' engineers.
HVAC Control Panel
This HVAC variable speed drive system was built for a local farm produce company.
The Omron variable speed drives maintain an optimised air flow in a particular growing envirnment.
The system has achieved a significant reduction in energy consumption as it replaced an outdated air flow restrictor system.
Servo Tube Bender Control Panel
This system was built for North West OEM : Boxer Design, who specialise in tube bending machinery.
The system is designed to automatically bend exhaust tubes. It is PLC controlled with an operator touchscreen.
Closed Loop Winder System
This control system was designed and built for North West machine builder MJ Howard Technical Services.
This is a closed loop film winder / slitter system using an Omron PLC and touchscreen, Omron F7 inverters with closed loop winder function software.
Twin Axis Servo System
This twin axis servo system was built for a local packaging company.
The twin Omron servo drives control X and Y movement on a linear slide above a packaging line.
